It was 60°F outside when I got out of work at 4pm. I was in such need of a good, fast, hard ride home; so stoked to feel the warm evening air when I stepped out in my long shorts and hoodie. Comfy and ready to just pedal my ass off; I stomp the pedals eastwards and skid down a narrow section of steep singletrack where I blend a dismount into a shoulder-cary over a railing; cyclocross style. Over the planked bridges which span a rushing river and few sets of tracks, my wheels rumble then hiss when I slice through a wet section of paved path... Out I pop into the Federal Hill area of Baltimore and I start cranking to the North... towards home, towards dinner; towards rest.
